And so it ensues…
Since I’m studying for midterms, I’m just going to continue this debate about Christianity and Homosexuality. Post your comments… Christians, Homos, Straight people, bonobos monkeys…
Latest response to my March 4th blog:
“Nor will you know the humiliation, the confusion, and being scared in a society where people strap other humans to a wooden fence, beating them senseless and leaving them for dead.”
Ah but we know more than you’d think. Roman arenas, lion’s den, crucifixtion? You think just cuz some idiot WASPs are running this country that Christians, true Christians, I must clarify, have had it all good? [Gasian this isn't in response to you, but a response to a response to you.]
The Bible says homosexuality is wrong. Man and woman created to become one. Period.
Gay penguins, natural homosexuality, blah blah- excuses. It is not natural, it is not normal, it is not not a choice, if that made sense.
As militant and ultra-right-wing as I sound, I’m not. Always open to debates.

My Response:
“Gay penguins, natural homosexuality, blah blah- excuses. It is not natural, it is not normal, it is not not a choice, if that made sense.”
If I could, I would choose to be straight. Why would I want to be gay? Why would I choose to exist in a society that ostracizes your own existance? Did you choose to be a heterosexual?
Sure, Christians had it rough like you said, but does that mean that the Spanish Inquisition was acceptable? That all non-Christians should be murdered by the thousands all in the name of “God”?
These issues are not black and white. Women’s rights and their submission in the Bible is neither black and white. Homosexuality and Christianity is neither black and white.
What is normal anyway?
Here’s an interesting opinion by poop johnson:
Christians are indeed supposed to be ashamed of their sinful (yet natural) ways. However, I don’t think God ever asked man to hate himself and be eternally ashamed, but to repent and celebrate God’s forgiveness. The statement above seems mired in self-condemnation, the author at an impasse that disallows him from creating a more joyful relationship with God. I guess I’m trying to say that I don’t think God wants us to be forever loathing ourselves for what we by nature are – sinners. This is what turns a lot of people off from Christianity – they think that scare and shame tactics constitute the entire religion, when in reality, I’d think most Christians would say it’s about celebration and praise, not prostration and condemantion.
……………………………………………….
Anyway… I’ll be checking things here and there throughout the week. Debates are good. Get yourself involved, even if you think it’s a STUPID comment.

You can use the same argument for Christians in Communist China or North Korea, or the entire Early Church. Every single discipline save Judas died a martyr.
“Sure, Christians had it rough like you said, but does that mean that the Spanish Inquisition was acceptable? That all non-Christians should be murdered by the thousands all in the name of “God”?”
The Spanish Inquisition (as well as the Crusades) were done by the Catholic Church, which I do not consider Christian.
“These issues are not black and white. Women’s rights and their submission in the Bible is neither black and white. Homosexuality and Christianity is neither black and white. “
Ah but they are. God says, and this is God speaking, not a prophet or disciple, that man and women are created to become one, a blessed union. God also says that homosexuality is a sin. Where’s the grey? Show me the grey.
But yeah, there is no normal.
2 questions for tkd:
Do you believe that every homosexual will go to hell even if they are a Christian?
Do you believe that Christian men are superior to Christian women?
Just wondering what your personal ethics are.
i see my friend adrian found your site bro.
i just got finished eating some good ol korean bbq with the crew & i was patiently browsing through the tv channels and it happened to be on the laramie project. good written account btw.
but like.. how i said before that i was raised under two different beliefs. i cant really be much of help.. but i do know:
no one is normal.. what makes normal, normal? is being normal mean being ourselves?!
answer: i dont know. neither does anyone else.. it’s like trying to make a definition for a universal word like friend or love.. u cant really define it because u know no way is entirely true or false.
everything somehow gets manipulated and complicated… there is always gonna be that damn neverending answer.. one thing leads to a next.
just as: food + food coma + stomach = sleep..
nite jason.
hahah, wow, okay now this is getting intense. My opinion is this, prostitutes were welcomed by Jesus when they came to Him repenting of their sinfulness. Homosexual relationships are sinful. Looking at a woman with lust is sinful, looking at a man with lust is sinful, not caring for the poor is sinful, lying is sinful, stealing is sinful, not caring for the poor is sinful, pride is sin. I can go on, the Law will go on forever as to what is sinful.
“Let him who is without sin cast the first stone”
We are ALL sinful, hate to disappoint those that think being straight makes you righteous. We cannot condemn anyone for their ways, only God has that power, He is the sole judge for He is the only one that is holy. The truth in God’s word says that when we repent we are forgiven…repentance, turning away from one’s sinfulness, choosing to follow the path of God instead of what seems “natural”, since human nature is sinful. God’s word is the truth, I could give my point of view, but it is meaningless. Study the Word, God says seek and you shall find.
We are all going to face judgement one day, Jesus Christ died because God knew we would not be able to live a life of righteousness on our own. He died for our sins so that we may be forgiven. To ALL who have faith in Jesus. It is His kindness that leads us to repentance, the fact that He loved us even as we were still sinners. He continues to love us even though we are sinners…and it is this unfailing love that makes us want to change our ways in accordance to God’s Word, to live a life of righteousness that can only be attained through a faith in Jesus Christ. I believe that we have been set free from the chains of sin and that God has given those with faith in Jesus all they need to overcome sin in their life. It’s not easy, but our struggles to grow and change lead us to joy in Christ and there is no greater thing…
bonobos monkeys:
Bonobos have some kind of sex almost every day, usually several times a day.
oh, i said the poor thing twice…its twice as sinful, hah just kidding…okay 1 more eprop for me being stupid…
Do you believe that every homosexual will go to hell even if they are a Christian? No.
Do you believe that Christian men are superior to Christian women? No.
As for balancing your Korean and American heritage… Why do you need to separate the two?
I don’t want to, believe me, but I am defined as an “other” by mainstream America. If you see a white kid and an asian kid standing together, and someone is referring to the white kid, they’ll refer to him as the “American.” Who is to say who’s American?
If anyone has the direct scripture passage that says homosexuality is a sin, I’d like to know where it is.
For me, I’m really torn. I didn’t choose to be a homosexual at all. Of course I’d choose to be str8 if I could, even despite how unbelievably HOTT guys are
. Yet at the same time, if I was a true Christian and I did believe in Christ’s power to strengthen me, He could heal me by my faith. But lacking faith and remaining in the attitude of “I’m stuck this way” isn’t the attitude of a Christian. No one likes being a hypocrite. ugh…
I’ve once again responded to some of this on my site, but I was pretty pissy when I wrote it, so let me warn you now…

Well. I want to say something good… so let me have two days to think real hard about this….
I’ll be back…*dun dun DUNN*
scripture…
Romans 1:26-27 “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with teh lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God”
Again, I don’t claim to understand what it is like to be gay, it is impossible for me to. But I do know that God’s Word is true and infallilble.
sorry, I know I’m posting a lot, this really makes me want to learn instead of simply being ignorant…here’s an article I found…
